I am truly a pinch of this and a dash of that kind of cook. I can't remember the last time I followed a recipe to the letter! I've been making this loaf for almost 20 years and just recently had to write it out for the first time. Therefore, I thought I would share it! The sauce makes this recipe.

Ingredients For ham loaf

1 lbground pork
-
1 lbground ham
-
1 cbread crumbs

1egg
-
1 tspeach, salt and pepper

3/4 cmilk

1 ctomato juice
-
3/4 cpacked brown sugar

1 tspdry mustard
-
1/2 cwater
-
1/2 cvinegar (white or apple cider)
How To Make ham loaf

1Mix together ground meats, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper and milk. Form loaf and place in large loaf pan. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.

2After one hour of baking, pour tomato juice over loaf and continue baking an addional 30 to 45 minutes.

3Combine brown sugar, dry mustard, water and vinegar in sauce pan. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer until sugar dissolves. Pour over loaf after removing from oven.
