Every month a bunch of my close "girl" friends get together and we have pot luck dinner followed by LOTS of talk and a movie... I provide the entree and dessert and they supply the wine, starch, veggies, and salad... Put together this recipe and it was a WINNER...

Ingredients For girl's night pulled pork

  • 2 lg
    pork butts
  • 2 lg
    sweet vadalia onions - chopped
  • 2 bottle
    kraft honey bbq sauce
  • 3/4 jar
    clover honey (small)
  • 1/3 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    light brown sugar

How To Make girl's night pulled pork

  • 1
Coat both sides of pork butts with a generous sprinkling of all the seasonings (Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Parsley, Cumin Powder, Celery Salt).

Place butts in crock pot... might be tight fit but that's OK. Sprinkle chopped onion over top of butts and pour vinegar over onions. Pour entire contents of both bottles of BBQ sauce over the onions/butts and then 3/4 of contents of bottle of honey over that (I usually buy the little bear bottle). Sprinkle 1/2 cup of light brown sugar over all of the contents [NO STIRRING OR TOSSING IS REQUIRED] ... at this point everything is piled on top of seasoned butts and ready to slow cook. Place cover on crock pot and set on low for 12 hours (always safe because under cooked pork is dangerous).

Once 12 hrs has arrived remove the pork butts from crock pot and place in very large bowl and use two strong forks to shred apart both butts (very easy as meat is so soft it will fall apart). Once all meat is shredded I scooped out several ladles of the "BBQ fluid/onions" from crock pot and added it to the meat to keep it moist and warm. Serve on soft large rolls with coleslaw.
