I never really measure the water, I just rinse the cans out and add to the pot, if you do not plan on simmering the chili all day you really do not need to add a lot of water.

Ingredients For dave’s chili

3 slicebacon

1/2 lbground beef

1/2 lbground pork
-
1 can14-16 oz can tomato sauce

2 can10 oz cans diced tomatoes

1 can6 oz can tomato paste

14 ozwater
-
1 can16 oz can red beans
-
1 mdonion
-
2 clovegarlic
-
1 Tbspsalt and pepper

1 Tbspred pepper

1 tsppaprika
-
2 Tbspchili powder
-
3 dashred pepper flakes

2 smbay leaves
How To Make dave’s chili

1Cook the 3 slices of bacon, then remove and hold aside for latter.

2In the bacon grease brown the ground meat and pork on high.

3Lower the heat and add diced onion and garlic glove, let the onions sweat a few minuets
-
4then add the diced tomatoes, sauce, paste, water and season to taste. simmer 2-3 hours (3-6 hours would be better and serve the next day.)

5After the first hour add the beans (optional) and skim grease if needed,

6Crumble bacon and add to chili, if you have not eaten it yet, before serving.
