I came up with this recipe one day years ago when I found I had too much apple cider left and had to use it before it turned on me. This can be cooked in the oven (preferably) or in a crock pot. Your home will smell absolutely wonderful!

Ingredients For cider mill pork roast

  • 1
pork roast (i prefer boneless but it doesn't really matter)
  • cinnamon, ground
  • onion salt
  • 5 or 6
    carrots, chopped
  • 3 or 4
    potatoes, cubed
  • 2 to 4
    onions, cut in quarters
  • 1 qt
    good apple cider

How To Make cider mill pork roast

  • 1
Pat roast dry then liberally coat with cinnamon and onion salt. Place on rack in roasting pan, surrounding with vegetables (quantities on these is your choice - these are what I use). Pour cider over vegetables, avoiding the roast. Cider should come about half way up the roast, cover and cook at 350 until done. This depends on the size of your roast, but I usually go about 3 to 4 hours. No basting is necessary unless you want to do so.

For a crock pot, put vegetables in first, then meat on top, following the rest of the directions for the cider. Cook on low heat for 8 hours.
