Ingredients For spaghetti pie

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 15 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 6 oz
    thin spaghetti
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 lg
    egg, beaten
  • 1 c
    ricotta cheese
  • 1 c
    mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make spaghetti pie

    In a skillet, over medium heat, saute beef, sausage, onion and garlic until the meat is cooked. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil and oregano. Simmer 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and chop into pieces. Combine with butter, parmesan and egg and press into the bottom of a 12" pie pan. Spread with ricotta, then meat sauce. Top with mozzarella. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
