A mix between Mexican and Italian. These calzones are yummy! You can make it spicier by using hot salsa, or less spicy by using plain salsa.

Ingredients For taco calzones

  • 1/2 lb
    ground turkey breast
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onion.
  • 1/2 c
    black beans, drained
  • 1
    8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    taco seasoning mix.
  • 1
    10.3 oz can pillsbury grands flaky biscuits
  • 1 c
    reduced-fat, shredded mexican-style cheese blend
  • 5 Tbsp
    favorite salsa
  • 5 Tbsp
    fat-free sour cream
  • 2
    green onions, sliced

How To Make taco calzones

  • 1
    Heat oven to 375. Spray a baking sheet w/ cooking spray. In lg skillet over med-high heat, cook ground turkey and onions until browned. Stir in beans, tomato sauce and taco seasoning. Simmer 5 min, stirring often until liquid is absorbed. Separate biscuits into 5 biscuits. Press or roll out to form a 5" round disc. Spoon 1/2 cup mix onto center of each disc. Sprinkle cheese evenly over each disc. Fold 1/2 of biscuit over filling, press edges w/ fork to seal. Place discs on baking sheet. Bake 12-15 min, or until golden brown. Top each calzone w/ salsa, sour cream and green onions.
