My family loves this recipe and it usually makes enough filling that we can make burritos or enchiladas with the leftovers. It's low-fat and high fiber, too, but I don't mention that to the kids. You can reduce the simmer time, but cooking it about 40 minutes develops the flavor.

Ingredients For family tacos

1 lblowfat hamburger meat

1chopped onion

1/2chopped bell pepper
-
1 or 2 candiced tomatoes

1 canblack beans
-
1 canred kidney beans
-
1 ccorn, frozen or canned

1 1/2 cwater, as needed

1 or 2 Tbspchili powder
-
2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tsppepper
-
1 tspgarlic powder

1/4 tspcumin
How To Make family tacos

1Brown hamburger meat in a nonstick skillet.

2Drain hamburger meat; set aside.

3Saute onions and pepper for a few minutes.

4Add meat back to skillet, along with both cans of rinsed beans, drained corn, and tomatoes. Add water as needed.

5Add salt and spices to skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 40 minutes or so. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

6Serve with taco shells, shredded cheese, sour cream, and diced tomatoes and lettuce. Feel free to add your favorite hot sauce, salsa, or guacamole if desired.
