My mom found this recipe in the back of an old cookbook of my grandmother's. The paper was starting to turn yellow so she had had it for quite some time. It is rich and very delicious. My mom always served this with garlic bread and chilled asparagus.

Ingredients For crab casserole

1 1/2 lbcrabmeat, fresh

1 bunchgreen onions

1/2 lbsliced mushrroms

2 jarsliced artichoke hearts

4 Tbspbutter
-
8 ozheavy whipping cream

4 ozvelveta
-
1/4 cflour
-
4 cloveminced garlic
-
1/2 cparmesan cheese divided

1/4 cpanko bread crumbs
How To Make crab casserole

1Preheat oven to 425

2Spray a 9x13 pan with non stick spray (I use Pam olive oil)

3make a roux with the flour, butter, and whipping cream
-
4add the garlic, green onions mushrooms, and Velveta cook for 5-10 minutes stirring constantly

5Add the crab and half of the Parmesan cheese. Cook until heated through. Pour on top of the artichoke hearts.

6Mix remaining cheese and Panko and sprinkle on top. Bake for 35-45 minutes.
