Here's another cheeseburger casserole recipe called the Waldorf. It's filled with chopped walnuts, dried cherries, Dijon mustard and Wisconsin blue cheese. It's a New York taste.

Ingredients For waldorf burger casserole

  • 3/4 c
    dried cherries
  • 2 c
    chopped walnuts, divided
  • 1 pkg
    wide egg noodles
  • olive oil
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    red onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    steak seasoning
  • 2 tsp
    Italian dressing mix
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned pepper
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/2 c
    half and half
  • 3/4 c
    Dijon mustard
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 2 c
    crumbled Wisconsin blue cheese, divided

How To Make waldorf burger casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat a 13x9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Add dried cherries and 1 cup chopped walnuts; mix well.

    Cook egg noodles according to package directions.

    Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced red onion. Cook for 6 minutes or until no longer pink; drain excess fat.

    Mix in steak seasoning, Italian seasoning and seasoned pepper. Remove from heat.

    In a medium bowl, mix heavy cream, half and half, Dijon mustard and cream cheese together for 3 minutes until blended.

    Stir in ground beef mixture, cooked egg noodles and 1 cup crumbled blue cheese. Set aside.

    Pour over a prepared baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining crumbled blue cheese and chopped walnuts.

    Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
