Ingredients For touchdown chili

  • 1 lb
    90% lean ground beef
  • 1 md
    jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 can
    (14.5 oz.) stewed tomatoes, mexican style
  • 1 can
    (15.5 oz.) red kidney beans, rinsed and well-drained (can substitute no-salt added)
  • 1 or 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper

How To Make touchdown chili

  • 1
    In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown beef with jalapeno, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat. Drain fat from pan.

    Add remaining ingredients, cover, and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.

    Serve with optional toppings of chopped scallions, cilantro, grated cheese or sour cream.
