bacon wrapped meatballs

If you want to try something a little different with your meatballs, this is a very tasty way to change things up a bit. I brought these to a church potluck and there weren't any leftover! FYI: to make them even better, cut string cheese sticks into bite size pieces and wrap the meatball mixture around it, and then the bacon...YUM!!

Ingredients For bacon wrapped meatballs

  • 4 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 c
    fine bread crumbs ( i like the italian seasoned)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 2 Tbsp
    italian seasoning (i like penzey's frozen pizza spice)
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 24 slice
    bacon
  • CREAMY TOMATO SAUCE
  • 24` oz
    jar of spaghetti sauce (i like the tomato basil one)
  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 14 oz
    tomatoes, canned italian-style and diced
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    italian seasoning

How To Make bacon wrapped meatballs

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion soup mix, Italian seasoning, and the garlic. Form into 24 meatballs. Wrap one slice of bacon around meatball (forms an x sort of) and place seam side down in pan. Bake for about 45 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

    Mix together the spaghetti sauce, sour cream, tomatoes, salt and Italian seasoning. Pour over cooked meatballs, and bake for about 15-20 minutes until bubbly and hot.
