Crock Pot dish that brings a southwestern flare to dirty rice! Yummy!

Ingredients For dirty border bowl

  • 3
    frozen chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 can
    chopped green chilis
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 can
    black beans, rinsed
  • 1 box
    dirty rice mix - any brand will work
  • TOPPINGS:
  • grated cheese (your favorite)
  • sour cream
  • hot sauce

How To Make dirty border bowl

    Place the frozen chicken, beans, water, green chilis & chicken bouillon in the crock pot. (Stir just to get the bouillon mixed in). Place lid on & cook on low for 8hrs. (May adjust time to your specific needs)

    when done. Take 2 forks and shred chicken breasts and stir. Then dump in the dirty rice mixture (usually comes with the packet of seasonings that are separate - dump it in as well) Stir & Let this cook for about 25-30 more minutes with the lid on. When done give it a stir & serve in a bowl with your favorite toppings.

    Note* - you could also add a can of drained sweet corn if you would like to the beginning step. Some chopped green parsely, added at the end, would give it a very pretty color as well.
