This has to be one of my favorite burgers to eat when I am very hungry! It's hearty, meaty, flavorful and knocks out that burger craving right away! This recipe features my onion straws that you can find on this site as well. Link to recipe will be posted in comments. Hope you're hungry! Enjoy!

Ingredients For western bbq blue cheese & cheddar burger

  • BURGER
  • 2 lb
    ground beef or turkey
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp
    coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3 tsp
    salt
  • 8 slice
    bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion
  • 1 c
    blue cheese crumbles
  • NEEDED TO ASSEMBLE BURGER
  • 8
    hamburger buns
  • 8 slice
    cooked bacon
  • 8 slice
    cheddar cheese slices or any cheese you like
  • crispy onion straws (see link below for recipe)
  • 1 bottle
    kc masterpiece bbq sauce (or your family favorite bbq sauce)
  • mayonnaise (optional)
  • lettuce, tomato and pickels (optional)
  • sliced avocado (optional)

How To Make western bbq blue cheese & cheddar burger

    In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, crumbled bacon, diced onion, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt (you can add the blue cheese here). Cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours.

    Make the crispy onion straws (recipe in comments).

    Preheat grill for high heat. Gently form the burger mixture into about 6-8 patties. Grill burgers until medium well or well done. However you like them. Add Cheddar Cheese at last minute of grilling burgers and transfer to a plate. Let rest while you assemble your toppings and buns.

    Assembly of BBQ burger, slather BBQ sauce and mayo on each end of hamburger buns. Place hamburger patty on bun bottom add bacon slice cut in half and then onion straws, if at this point you want lettuce, sliced tomatoes and pickles, add them now and top hamburger bun top. Take a big bite, savor it and enjoy!
