A variation on an old favorite, done with an Australian twist!

Ingredients For say g'day meatloaf

1 lblean ground beef

1onion, finely chopped
-
1/4 cwater
-
1/2 cketchup
-
1/4 cdry red wine
-
1/4 cworcestershire sauce
-
2 Tbspvinegar
-
1 Tbspinstant coffee powder
-
1/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 ozbutter
- SAUCE INGREDIENTS

salt and pepper to taste

1 lbsausage stuffing
-
1 cbread crumbs
-
2onions, finely chopped
-
1 Tbspcurry powder
-
1/2 cwater
-
1 Tbspfresh parsley, minced
-
1egg, beaten
-
1garlic clove, crushed
-
1/2 cmilk
-
2 tsplemon juice
How To Make say g'day meatloaf

1Combine meats, breadcrumbs, onions, salt, pepper, garlic, parsley, curry and egg in large bowl.

2Mix well.

3Mix milk and water and add to meat mixture a little at a time until smooth but firm.

4Shape into loaf and put into greased baking pan.

5Bake 30 minutes at 375.

6SAUCE: Saute onions in butter until golden and add all other ingredients.

7Bring slowly to a boil, lower heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes.

8After loaf has cooked for 30 minutes, pour half of the sauce over the meat, return to oven and bake 45 minutes more, basting often with remaining sauce.

9Serve loaf hot in thick slices with remaining sauce.

10Also makes great sandwiches.
