I couldn't find a chili recipe I liked that well..so I wrote this recipe..took about a year of adjusting..but now we all love it..Hope you enjoy.

Ingredients For holy mole chili

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lg
    onion,,chopped
  • 3 c
    beef broth
  • 1/4 c
    tomato paste, italian
  • 1 pkg
    chili brick (comes in a tub or brick)
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 5
    sun-dried tomato(in oil) chopped
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    mexican tomato boullion(knorr)
  • 1 tsp
    carne asada seasoning
  • 2
    ancho/pasilla chili (blacken under broiler)skins removed.
  • 3 oz
    unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 c
    fine corn meal

How To Make holy mole chili

  • 1
    saute onion in 3 T oil until soft on medium heat. Add beef and cook until brown Now add rest of the ingredients except chocolate and corn meal..Simmer for 2 hours..Now add chocolate and sprinkle corn meal stirring as you add it. Simmer for another 1/2 hour.

    Topping can be grated cheese and raw chopped onion.. You can add pinto or red beans(cooked) or put it over spagetti,,or hamburger or hot dog.
