This recipe came from the newspaper over 20 years ago from one of our local reporters. He has since retired and now does guest apperances on serveral local PBS cooking shows. I haven't found anything better for burgers.

Ingredients For gary's burger mix

  • 1
    onion, minced
  • 1 tsp
    garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 c
    steak sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    molasses, light or dark
  • 2 Tbsp
    worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 3 lb
    ground beef

How To Make gary's burger mix

  • 1
    Mix first six ingredients together in large mixing bowl. Crumble beef over mixture and combine, just to mix ingredients through.

    Grill, pan fry, or broil to your liking. I often double this recipe and then freeze half. It's great for casseroles, meat loaf, etc.
