I found this recipes many years ago in a book given to me from my Cub Scouts. It's a family favorite and great to make on a busy day, the oven does all the hard work. It makes the house smell wonderful, I hope you'll enjoy it.

Ingredients For french beef stew

3beef bouillon, cubes
-
2 cboiling water
-
2 lbbeef, cut into 1- inch cubes

4carrots,cut into 4- inch strips

4 ozjar sliced mushrooms, drained

2onions, chopped
-
2 slicewhite bread, crumbled
-
2 Tbspquick-cooking tapioca
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
2potatoes, cut into1-inch cubes
How To Make french beef stew

1Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water. Place beef cubes, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and onions in a casserole dish.

2Sprinkle with crumbled bread and tapioca; season with salt and pepper. Pour bouillon over all.

3Cover dish tightly with foil. Bake in oven for 4 hours. Check several times to be certain liquid has not evaporated; add water if necessary.
