Offered as part of my Ground Beef Favorites Collection from First Ladies. This is purported to be the favorite dish of Mrs. Don Samuelson, Wife of Governor of Idaho I found these recipes in an old cookbook which has no name or any identifying labels.

Ingredients For first ladies / salisbury steak

1 2/3 csaltines, crushed

2 lbground beef

1/2 cketchup

2eggs

2 tsponion, chopped

2 tspparsley, chopped

1 tspworcestershire sauce

1 1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tsppepper

1/2 tspmarjoram

1/2 tspnutmeg

1 can(10 1/2 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cmilk

2 Tbspbutter

1 tspsherry
-
1 dashgarlic salt

1 can(4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained

1 Tbspchopped pimento
How To Make first ladies / salisbury steak

1Combine first eleven ingredients; mix well. Shape into oval patties Place in a deep dish.

2Heat soup with milk, butter, sherry and garlic salt. Pour over patties; cover

3Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. During last 10 minutes, add mushrooms and pimento.
