This started out as a roast, but when I went to check it after an hour, the oven was cold - broken. What to do with a roast when you have four hungry people staring at you ready for dinner? With the pasta already made, here was my solution. What started out as a disaster, turned into a yummy dinner.

How To Make delicious disaster roast

Since this was originally suppose to be a roast - I took the roast, topped it with the worcestershire sauce, the garlic, the horseradish, and the hamburger rub. Then I allowed it to sit, covered in the oven for an hour. So, I would say the best thing to do would be to marinate the roast in this mix for a minimum of an hour, up to over night in the fridge.

Upon discovering the oven broken, I poured the liquid into a deep frying pan, cubed the roast into approximately 1 inch cubes. I took 2 1/2 cups hot water, dissolved 5 beef bullion cubes in it and added it to the pan.

I mixed it all together, covered it with a lid and simmered it for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The pasta had already been cooked, so I ladled the beef and some of the sauce over the pasta and served with white corn.

Since this cut is suppose to be roasted for a long time on a low heat, it was not as tender as a regular roast would be. Simmering it longer may have made it more tender - but as it was - it was still not tough. The sauce was perfect.
