These were always my favorite growing up - so much tastier that the manwich version. Mom mom didn't like the hot sauce - so Dad would tell her he left it out and sneak in one shake of the bottle. Fearing he would forget - us kids would each sneak in a shake while it simmered...made for a spicy BBQ! But we loved it! ... well.. maybe not Mom!

Ingredients For dad's sloppy joes

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 bottle
    chili sauce
  • 1/2 bottle
    sweet barbecue sauce
  • 1 dash
    hot sauce
  • 1/2 md
    onion, chopped

How To Make dad's sloppy joes

    Brown the ground beef with the onion.

    Drain.
  • 3
    Stir in sauces and cook until bubbling.

    Serve on hamburger rolls or over mashed potatoes. Great reheated and can be frozen for later use. When frozen, place in a slow cooker for heating or back into the frying pan with a few ounces of water.
