These ground beef patties are served with mashed potatoes. Serve sauce as gravy. Chopped onion and green bell pepper can be found in the freezer section at the store. This works great!

Ingredients For "creole" hamburgers

  • 1 lb
    ground beef, made into patties
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 can
    (10 1/2 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 3 Tbsp
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 dash
    salt and pepper
  • 1 dash
    cinnamon

How To Make "creole" hamburgers

  • 1
    Using an electric skillet or large stove top skillet, lightly brown ground beef patties on both sides.

    Add onion, green bell pepper, salt and pepper.

    Spoon soup in and around the patties.
  • 4
    Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.

    Simmer on low heat, turning patties at least once to coat with sauce until ground beef is done.
