I didn't feel like baking hot dogs buns today, so I whipped this up in a pinch! I love the breading on these hot dogs. You can eat it with or without the dipping sauce, but I really do enjoy it!

Ingredients For country fair hot dogs a la paris

  • HOT DOGS
  • 8
    hot dogs
  • 1 1/2 c
    quaker's harina preparada
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp
    mustard, grainy
  • enough chicken broth to make a dough
  • 3
    slices of cheese (cut into 8 strips), i used aged swiss
  • olive oil, extra virgin
  • kosher salt
  • DIPPING SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp
    mustard, grainy
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    dill

How To Make country fair hot dogs a la paris

    Boil hot dogs until they float.

    In a mixing bowl, mix harina preparada, ketchup, mustard, and enough chicken broth to make a dough. I make my chicken broth at home and keep it in glass jars for easy access.

    Dump on a floured surface. Knead for about 5 minutes. Then roll into a large rectangle.

    Cut into 8 squares that are the length of the hot dogs. in the bottom of the square place your cheese, and then the hot dogs atop. Roll up to cover the hot dog, but you needn't seal the ends. Repeat with all the hot dogs.

    Then on a greased cookie sheet, place seam side down. Rub each with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt.

    Place in the oven at 325F until breading is cooked through, about 10 minutes.

    To make dipping sauce, just place all sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk. Serve a dollop on each plate.
