My grandmother (Mema) made this using corned beef. I just changed the meat and added cheese. The sauce amounts were always "about this much". You can use your favorite biscuit recipe or to save even more time, use already prepared biscuit or bread dough.

How To Make cheeseburger rolls

  • 1
Preheat oven to 350. Add flour to a large bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until it resembles crumbs. Add 1/2 of milk and stir. Add milk, a small amount at a time, until the dough pulls away from the bowl.
  • 2
Turn the dough out onto a well floured pastry sheet. Knead JUST until smooth and not sticky, if you overwork it the dough will be tough and dry. Roll dough out into a rectangle that is about 14x10, it should be about 1/8 of and inch thick.
  • 3
Place ground chuck a small thin amount at a time onto the dough, covering the whole surface. (I press small pieces between my hands and then place them on the dough which is easier if the meat is allowed to warm a bit.) Sprinkle Mrs Dash over meat, then layer cheese evenly over all.

Start on long side and roll like you would a cinnamon roll. Pinch close the seam and place the log seam side down on a cutting board. Using a long serrated knife and a sawing motion, cut pieces approximately 1/2 inch thick. Place on baking stone or cookie sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes
  • 5
While rolls are baking, prepare sauce. In a sauce pan, combine tomato soup, milk, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, onion powder and chili powder. Heat on low stirring often until warm. Serve over rolls or top your rolls with your favorite cheeseburger condiments.
