We like ours with Okra, but you are more than welcome to leave it out.

Ingredients For beef stew

  • 1 lb
    chuck roast, cubed
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 4 qt
    water
  • 1 tsp
    kitchen bouquet
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 6
    potatoes
  • 2
    carrots
  • 2
    celery stalks with leaves
  • 1
    onion
  • 2 clove
    garlic
  • 1 pkg
    frozen okra (optional)
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 can
    whole corn, drained

How To Make beef stew

  • 1
    Chop veggies into chunks about 1/2 inch. Mince the garlic.

    Cube chuck roast into 1 inch cubes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Heat oil in a large heavy bottom pot.
  • 4
    Place beef in pot, sprinkle with flour and brown on all sides, stirring occasionaly.

    Add all remaining ingedients, except the Corn and Okra , and cook on high for 1 hour, lid askew. Stirring occasinaly.

    Taste and add salt, pepper and water, if needed. Add the Okra and corn and continue to cook for another half hour.
