I found this recipe on the box of instant rice. I have definitely added it to my recipe collection! This is a fairly quick dish to put together and tastes great! We prefer to make this with venison instead of ground beef but both are good!

Ingredients For beef casserole deluxe

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 15 oz can
    tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    garlic
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 1/2 c
    instant white rice
  • 1 c
    cottage cheese
  • 3 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced parsley
  • 3/4 c
    cheddar cheese

    Brown beef; drain. Add tomato sauce, 1 tsp. salt, garlic, onion, and green pepper. Simmer 1-2 minutes. Bring water to a boil, and add rice and remaining salt. Cover let stand for 5 minutes. Blend cottage cheese and softened cream cheese well, add parsley. In a two-quart casserole layer rice, cheese mixture, and meat sauce. Top with cheddar cheese. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
