beef stew or carne asada meat (thin cut)
  • 3 pkg
    brown gravy mix (low sodium)
  • 2 pkg
    onion gravy mix (low sodium)
  • 1 pkg
parboiled rice (approx. 5 cups in package, only make what you need to serve number of people according to package)
  • 2 can
    green beans
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 pkg
    frozen dinner yeast rolls
  • 1 pkg
    au jus mix
  • salt (per taste)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
mrs dash steak or chicken seasoning
  • 5 1/2 c
    water (for meat)

How To Make beef and gravy w/rice

  • 1
Place meat in Dutch Oven pot, Cast Iron Dutch Oven or Crockpot and season with seasonings in recipe except for the garlic powder. Mix packets of gravy mix and Au Jus Mix in the 5 1/2 cups of water and pour over meat. Let meat cook for about 2 to 3 hours on Medium-Low heat, stirring occasionally. (If you use Beef Stew meat, once it is done take it out of the pot and shred it with 2 forks and place it back in the pot). Turn down to low heat and prepare your sides.

Cook Rice according to package directions. (You want to cook enough rice for your whole family). I use the parboiled rice, because I like the texture and it always comes out perfect. Use whatever kind of rice you would prefer. Place Green Beans in a pot or microwavable dish and add in the butter, pepper, garlic powder, 1/2 tsp of sugar and salt. Cook on stove on low heat/simmer for about 30 minutes, or cook in the microwave for about 8 minutes.

When everything is about done, place your frozen yeast rolls in the oven and bake according to package directions.

To serve, pour Beef and Gravy over a serving of Rice, put some green beans on the side with a roll and enjoy! I hope your family loves it as much as mine does. **Note**: This recipe can end up being very salty if you use too many seasonings or add any salt at all to the meat. I am very, very sparing on the seasonings because the Gravy mixes are always so salty. Thank you and I hope it comes out great for you.**
