My Mom made this quick and easy stew for as long as I can remember. We use to crumble cornbread on the top of our bowls of stew and dig in. Recipe is easily cut in half for two servings.

Ingredients For bean and meat stew

  • 2 can
    great northern beans
  • 2 can
    stewed tomatoes
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    salt pork, diced
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion

How To Make bean and meat stew

  • 1
    Fry salt pork crisp in a large fry pan and remove. Brown onion and beef in the pork fat. Drain. Add beans, tomatoes (cut into pieces with edge of spoon), salt,and pepper (Add salt pork, optional.) Cook on low heat for 30 min.
