This is hands down my kids favorite dinner. I serve it with fluffy mashed potatoes. This recipe came from my Aunt Lois and she was quite a cook!! If you can't find meatloaf mix just substitute all ground beef. The sauce makes a fabulous gravy for the potatoes but I would recommend using a gravy separator as it tends to be a little greasy from the meat. ENJOY!!!

Ingredients For aunt lois's meatloaf

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef pork and veal mix (meatloaf mix)
  • 1 c
    bread crumbs, dry
  • 1 md
    onion chopped
  • 1/2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How To Make aunt lois's meatloaf

    Lightly mix meatloaf ingredients and form into a loaf.

    Place in a shallow baking pan. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meatloaf.

    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. Baste occasionally
