Got this recipe from book that told how to mix drinks, where they originated from, and approximate year the drink became popular. I copied a bunch of the recipes, and then of course I lost track of book when we moved to new house. After I reread this paticular recipe, it puts me in mind of a long island tea mix. Lets see what you think!!

Ingredients For low country punch

  • 1 1/2
    cups boiling water
  • 4
    green tea bags
  • 1/2 to 1
    cup sugar, or to taste
  • 2 1/2
    cup, good blended whiskey
  • 1 1/2
    cup rum
  • 1/2
    cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2
    cup triple sec orange
  • one
    32 oz. bottle chilled seltzer water

How To Make low country punch

  • 1
    Pour boiling water over tea bags, cover and steep 4 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags.

    Stir in 1/2 cup sugar till dissolved, adding additional sugar ( up to 1/2 cup) if desired.

    Combine tea, whiskies and next 3 ingredients in a pitcher. Cover and serve overe ice.
