Good use of the mint growing in our garden! I prepared two renditions: one with orange blossom water and one with rose water. Delicious, summery and refreshing! Lime juice sounds good as a substitute for lemon juice, don't you think? Found on greenprophet.com.

Ingredients For polo aka limon bi nana

  • 8 oz
    filtered water
  • 1/2 tsp
    finely grated lemon zest
  • 1
    large lemon, juice of
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar, approximately and to taste (tested with honey and the second glass with unbleached cane sugar)
  • 2-4 Tbsp
    fresh mint leaves, *stems removed* (reduced significantly but you can add more mint)
  • 1 tsp
    orange blossom water or rose water (or combination of the two)
  • ice cubes

How To Make polo aka limon bi nana

    Blend all ingredients *except ice cubes* in a blender until smooth. Take a taste. Not minty enough and you want it mintier? Add more fresh mint! Pour over ice, and if desired garnish with mint leaf and lemon slice. *Tip: If you're bothered by the little specks of mint that did not completely blend into the water, you can pour the beverage through a fine mesh sieve first.
