Sorry, no really great and wonderful story just this great and wonderful coffee. I have a passion for the Golden Age of Piracy and somehow this drink made with Blue Mountain coffee and the rums kind of helps take me there if only in my daydreams.

Ingredients For smuggler’s coffee

  • 1/2 c
    hot coffee, strong
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 oz
    gold rum
  • 1 oz
    dark rum
  • 1
    stick (2-3 in) cinnamon
  • 1
    (long) strip of orange zest, plus finely grated zest, for garnish
  • sweetened whipped cream and grated mexican chocolate, for garnish

How To Make smuggler’s coffee

    In a heatproof glass, stir the coffee and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Stir in both rums.

    Add the cinnamon and the strip of orange zest. Garnish with whipped cream, grated Mexican chocolate and grated orange zest.
