I came up with this tasty custard pie that has warmed apple cider in it to give it a unique flavor. Enjoy!

Ingredients For warm cider pie

  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    apple cider, warmed on stove
  • 1 c
    whole milk
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • ground cinnamon or nutmeg, dusting on top
  • whipping cream (optional)

How To Make warm cider pie

    Preheat oven to 400F. Roll out you favorite pie crust and line a 9 inch pie pan with pastry;set aside. In a saucepan warm your apple cider on the stove but don't let it boil, turn it off and set it aside.

    In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar and salt thoroughly. Stir in your whole milk, warm cider and vanilla and combine. Pour into the pastry shell; dust a bit of either cinnamon or nutmeg (or both) over the top.

    Bake the pie for 10 minutes at 400F, then reduce oven temperature to 350F and bake 55 to 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool pie on a wire rack, cover loosely and refrigerate . To serve cut into a wedge and top with your favorite topping and dust with alittle more cinnamon or nutmeg.
