This recipe came from a dear friend's mom years ago. It is the simplest pie recipe I have and the best strawberry pie I have ever tried! Absolutely perfect for the summer months.

Ingredients For strawberry pie

1 qtfresh strawberries, divided

19 " pie crust, store bought or your own

1 csugar, or splenda
-
3 Tbspcorn starch
-
1 cwater
-
1 tspred food coloring
-
cool whip to garnish
How To Make strawberry pie

1Wash berries. To a large pot, add 1 cup of cut up berries, sugar or splenda, cornstarch, water and food coloring.

2Mix well and heat until thick, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

3Slice the rest of the berries and add to mixture. Heat through and pour into pie crust. Cool. Serve with cool whip if desired.
