I love fresh spinach and make a spinach lasagna so just had to find a great recipe for my family that would be a "go to" for a spaghetti pie. This one did just that.

Ingredients For gigi's spinach-turkey spaghetti pie

  • 6 oz
    uncooked angel hair pasta
  • 2 Eggs
    beat slightly
  • 1/3 c
    grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb
    ground turkey
  • 1/2 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1 jar
    14 ozs, spaghetti sauce, (i use mushroom)
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 pkg
    (8oz) light or fat free cream cheese (room temp)
  • 1/2 pkg
    fresh spinach ( use 1/2 a bag)
  • 1/2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make gigi's spinach-turkey spaghetti pie

    Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Add eggs and Parmesan cheese. Press into the bottom and sides of a greesed 9" deep-dish pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While the pasta is baking, in a skillet, cook the turkey and onions over medium heat until turkey is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and seasonings, bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Break apart cream cheese, place in the crust. Then top with fresh spinach and meat sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until set.
