I've used this recipe for about 30 years and its been a favorite of my family. I found it in a cookbook that I purchased at a festival in Lebanon, Ohio. It was submitted by Mildred Foster. I started collecting cookbooks about 50 years ago and I have many cookbooks from churches and womens organizations. I find that they have wonderful tried and true recipes that have been used for many years.

The directions above were given in the recipe. My kids think I am picky (to say the least) about most recipes. (I usually rewrite them in the order that I add the ingredients.) I always combine my dry ingredients, then add the eggs, butter & vanilla. Stir in the apples & nuts last. Pour equally into the 2 greased pie pans and bake. This pie makes its own crust. It's really good, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
