I first made this delicious apple pie back in March of this year, & shared pictures of It on Facebook but never got around to posting it. Since I cook & bake so much I had forgotten all about it, until a friend Kelly Wilson asked me if I planned to post it. I 've baked so much since then that I had to review the pictures in my I Pad to find out the one she was referring to. I had typed it on my computer but just forgot to post it. It Is different in that you start out on the stove top. Yet so delicious & is filled with lots of apples, & has lots of flavor. I made it for St Patrick's Day.

You should have at least 8 cups.
  • 3
These are some of the main ingredients I used to make this pie.
  • 4
These are the spices & sugar.
  • 5
Using a deep dish 9 inch pie pan, add the first crust to the bottom of the pie plate. Position and prick the crust with tins of fork to conform to pie plate.
  • 6
Using a medium size sauce pan, add the apple juice concentrate, brown sugar and spices, then heat over medium high heat.
  • 7
Add in the sliced apples, & raisins, cover with a lid and cook gently until almost crisp tender about 10 to 15 minutes. TURN OFF HEAT.
  • 8
Remove the cooked apples with a slotted spoon to a medium size bowl. ALLOW LIQUID TO COOL DOWN TO AVOID CURDLING OF IRISH CREAM. Then add in the Irish Cream Liqueur, you will need about 1 3/4 cups of liquid, if you have less than that add in enough apple juice concentrate to make up the difference. Then add in the butter and stir till melted.
  • 9
Blend the lemon juice with the corn starch, in a small bowl, and pour into the cooking liquid, and cook until the sauce thickens. Add in the butter flavoring & stir to blend.
  • 10
Remove from heat and add the apples back into sauce pan. Stir to blend together and pour into prepared pie crust.
  • 11
Top with remaining crust and seal the two together by crimping. Brush the top crust wth egg wash,(1 egg beaten with 1 Tbs. water) Make slits in top of crust for steam to escape during cooking, top with decorators sugar if desired.
  • 12
Bake in preheated oven about 35 to 45 minutes or until top crust s golden Brown. Serve with ice cream or plain and enjoy. Makes about 8 servings.
