Some people may want to use this recipe for their Chess Pie. I saw this with the Chess Pie Recipes in my recipe book. I have not tried it yet but next time I will, It sounds good & easy.

Ingredients For crust for chess pie

  • 1/2 c
    corn meal
  • 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    shortening
  • 3-4 Tbsp
    cold water

How To Make crust for chess pie

    Sift the dry ingredients together.

    In a medium size bowl; cut-in the shortening in the flour mixture until mixture resembles course crumbs.

    Add water a tablespoon at a time until dampened. Form into a ball
  • 4
    Roll out on a lightly floured board or cloth. Place in a 9 inch pie plate. Add chess pie mixture and bake according to pie directions.
