This is my own personal spin on peach cobbler. I hope you enjoy it. It is so delicious serving warm with vanilla ice cream. I think the extra taste comes from marinating, if you will, the peaches in brown sugar and cinnamon with a little almond flavoring while you prepare other parts of the cobbler. P.S. This is not a good recipe if you are trying to lose weight...LOL!!! :P

How To Make anne's peach cobbler

  • 1
28 oz. can sliced peaches, in heavy syrup 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1 ¾ teaspoon baking powder ¾ cup milk 1 stick margarine or butter. ¼ teaspoon almond extract (optional) Brown sugar to taste Cinnamon to taste
  • 2
Drain peaches and coat with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste, adding ¼ teaspoon almond extract. Let sit. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and milk and stir until mixture is smooth. Place margarine in a glass or metal baking pan in 350 degree oven until just melted. Next, add the peaches to the flour mixture and stir. Pour in the baking pan over the margarine/butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. My oven doesn’t cook as hot on 350 degrees so I let stay in oven just a couple of minutes more. Sprinkle crust with a little brown sugar and cinnamon about five minutes before taking out of the oven. It will get bubbly on top. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Tastes like you used fresh peaches.
