Ingredients For grandma kiwacka's doughnuts

    eggs or 4 yolks
  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    buttermilk
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 3 1/2 c
    flour

How To Make grandma kiwacka's doughnuts

    Beat eggs. Mix in shortening and sugar. Add buttermilk, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and flour.

    Turn onto lightly floured board, knead 5 or 6 times. Cut with doughnut cutter.

    Roll out gently 1/3" thick. Let rest for 20 minutes.

    Fry in hot fat until brown. Turn as they rise to the surface and show a little color. Drain on absorbent paper.
