With a dusting of flour on surface top, using a rolling pin or glass, roll out each biscuit to about 7 x 5 round. Dust inside with a sprinkle of flour. Place apple in center of "dumpling". Insert 1 slice butter into core hole of apple, sprinkle generously with cinnamon, brown sugar mixture. Pull edges up around the apple and pinch or twist tog at the top to secure. Repeat for as many apples as you require. Place each apple in baking dish. Once all apples are in pour sugar mixture throughly over all apples. Place in oven and bake on 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes. (If crusts start prematurely browning apply a loose tent of vented tin foil through the remainder of cooking time. Remove from oven carefully, transfer to individual serving plates. Serve immediately or while warm with your choice of pure cream or vanilla bean ice cream! Heaven just came down!!! Seems like a lot of work but it isn't if you have all ingredients laid out and ready when you begin making your dumplings. The red food coloring gives it a nice "zing" of color! Great time for kids to get a cooking lesson! They love dough! Enjoy
