This recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law. Mary Candler, the wife to my husband's Uncle Bo, originally gave her this recipe in 1966. When made with any fresh fruit and topped with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, it's a sure hit with family or company. Enjoy!!

Ingredients For quick fruit cobbler

  • 2 c
    fruit
  • 2/3 c
    sugar
  • 2/3 c
    margarine or butter
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • pinch
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    milk

How To Make quick fruit cobbler

    Add 2/3 cup of sugar to 2 cups fruit, set aside
  • 2
    Set oven at 350F degrees. Place 2/3 cup of margerine or butter in deep baking dish (approx. 6x10) put in oven or microwave to melt

    Stir up batter of 3/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, 2 tsp baking powder, pinch of salt and 3/4 cup of milk. Pour this mixture over the melted margarine/butter. DO NOT STIR Then pour fruit over the batter. Bake approx 1 hour. Batter will rise to top - brown and crisp when done. Use any fresh or canned fruit or berries.
