I don't know who deserves credit for this recipe but they have my undying devotion for coming up with something as fabulous and fast as this apple cinnamon treat.

Ingredients For buttery cinnamon skillet apples

  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1/2 - 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 4 md
    cooking apples, cored, unpeeled and cut in half

How To Make buttery cinnamon skillet apples

    In skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and cornstarch; mix well.

    Add remaining ingredients, placing apples cut side up. Cover and cook over medium heat, spooning sauce over apples occasionally, until apples are fork tender and sauce is thickened, about 12-15 minutes.

    Serve warm with or without ice cream.
