This is a wonderful quick and easy Desser, It's Apples sauted in Butter, And Cinnamon Sugar, placed into Baked Crispy cinnamon sugar Tortillas . It reminds me of fried Apple Pies, only much easier and quicker to make, love the crispy Tortillas too. This Recipe is by Christy Jordan on Southern plate.

Ingredients For apple flautas

  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar, ( also works fine with splenda )
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 3 to 4 apples, peeled and sliced thin ( peel apples, cut in half and slice halves for best size )
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 6
    6 inch - flour tortillas
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice

How To Make apple flautas

    Pre-Heat oven to 325 - Mix 2 Tabsp. Sugar with the cinnamon and Set Aside- Melt Butter in a skillet. Brush melted Butter on Both sides of each Tortilla , Then Sprinkle both sides of Tortillas with 1/2 tsp. of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place Tortillas on an ungreased baking sheet, and put into oven untill Tortillas are just Warm and pliable, enough to roll . - Remove from Oven and roll Tortillas to make a loose roll, Placing them seam side down on the baking sheet and then return to oven for about 10 minutes, untill they are Browned and Crispy.

    Meanwhile, saute the apple slices in remaining butter in the skillet over high heat with 1 Tabsp. of sugar( you can dump in the remaining cinnamon sugar too, ) untill browned and tender, When Apples are tender stir in the Lemon juice . And remove from heat , - Spoon the Apple mixture into the Tortillas. Serve Eat and Enjoy
