You should probably make a double batch of these cookies, unless you're the only one eating, as they won't last long. They are some of the best chocolate chip cookies, I've ever tasted. This recipe was shared with me, by a good friend from High School and I've been making them ever since. She added nuts to hers, I noted in the recipe that I don't add them. They are perfect as is. Enjoy!

How To Make superb chocolate chip cookies

  • 1
Stir together the flour, soda and salt, in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • 2
Preheat your oven to 325 degree F. Place one oven rack at the top and one in the middle of oven. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • 3
In my heavy duty kitchen aid, I added the sugars ad melted butter ~ Mix on low speed until well blended. Scraping sides if need be.
  • 4
To this, add the egg, yolk and vanilla extract ~ mix until well blended.
  • 5
On low speed, add the dry ingredients and beat only until all dry ingredients are incorporated.
  • 6
    Fold in chocolate chips.
  • 7
Using my ice cream scoop, I placed cookie dough 2 inches apart on lined sheet pan. Can make smaller, but make sure you watch with bake times, that they don't over cook.
  • 8
Place one sheet pan on each rack and bake for 7 - 8 minutes, switch sheets to opposite racks and bake another 7 - 8 minutes or until lightly turning golden. Watch to not over bake.
  • 9
Cool on sheet pans for 5 minutes, then place in cooling rack ~ if they last that long...LOL! Enjoy!
