I dreamt up this recipe one night while I was sleeping. So the next morning I put the recipe to the test. They are delicious and satisfying. I think they are a good cookie for dieters. Try them and let me know what you think.

Ingredients For healthier apple sugar cookies

  • 2 md
    apples
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    chia seed
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 2/3 c
    margarine
  • 1 1/3 c
    sugar in the raw
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    separate bowl of sugar in the raw for roling cookie balls

How To Make healthier apple sugar cookies

    Chop apples. Then put the 1st 5 ingredients ( apples,brown sugar, margarine,chia seeds, and cinnamon) in a sauce pan. Cook until apples are tender. Cool mixture

    Take the next 5 ingredients (shortening, margarine, sugar in the raw, ) cream these together until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla. Combine all together.

    Add the Apple mixture to the wet ingredients. Combine well.

    Take the remaining ingredients. (Flour, cinnamon,baking powder and salt.) Mix altogether.

    Mix the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients by using a mixer.

    Shape the dough into walnut size balls roll them in the remaining sugar in the raw. Place on a cookie sheet about 2" apart. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes. Or until crispy on the bottom.

    Remove from cookie sheet to a cooling rack unit completely cool.
