I love the flavors of chocolate and orange together. I did some experimenting and came up with this delicious cookie. You may omit the Triple Sec,and use flat orange soda in place of Alcohol if you prefer.

Ingredients For chocolate orange dreams

  • 12 oz
    dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/4 c
    flour
  • 4 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest
  • 1/2 c
    triple sec orange liquor,or flat orange soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • TOPPING
  • 4 oz
    semi sweet choc chips for dipping
  • 2 Tbsp
    triple sec or orange soda
  • 1 tsp
    shortening
  • 1 tsp
    orange zest
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    finely chopped walnuts for topping

How To Make chocolate orange dreams

    in a double boiler or bowl place in a pan of boiling water. Melt the 12 ounces of chocolate with the butter. Stir until melted and smooth.

    Whisk the eggs with the Triple Sec,and sugar. stir in nuts,and orange Zest. Set aside

    in a separate bowl sift the dry ingredients together.

    Add the cooled chocolate to the egg mixture. Stir well. Add the flour ingredients. Combine really well. Chill for an hour in fridge.

    Take batter and make in to balls. Place on parchment lined sheet pan. Bake in oven 10 minutes,or cracked looking cookies appear.

    Cool cookies. Melt the chocolate,with the Triple Sec,and or soda,orange rind,and shortening,and stir well. If you need to add a bit of milk to make the chocolate smooth do so.1 teaspoon at a time.

    Dip the tops of cookies in the chocolate and dip in to finely chopped nuts. Return to platter and wait until chocolate sets. Serves 20
