Ingredients For caramel pecan cake

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 cup crisco shortening
  • 1 lb. box light brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

How To Make caramel pecan cake

  • 1
    Cream butter and shortening. Add brown sugar a little at a time Beat well.
  • 2
    Add granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Now beat 3 minutes.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with the milk. Mix well. Stir in maple flavoring and pecans.

    Pour into a large greased and floured tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until done.
