We lived near a wonderful little bakery in Burbank and they had "to die for" Tea Squares (my name). I couldn't afford bakery goods so I tried and tried until I got it right! This recipe is written on my infamous pink card stock! LOL

Ingredients For tea squares--lyn*

  • 1/2 stick
    oleo (butter)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 pinch
    allspice, ground
  • 1 c
    almonds, chopped
  • jam, any flavor (i used apricot or raspberry

How To Make tea squares--lyn*

    Heat oven to 350. Butter and flour 9x9x3 pan

    Mix until crumbly.

    1/2 batter in pan; spread jam on top; 1/2 batter on jam.

    Bake until crust is golden brown.
