Ingredients For tea cookies

  • 2 oz pkg
    silvered almonds
  • 2 c
    unsalted butter
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 16 0z pkg
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 5 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 60
    cloves (optional)

How To Make tea cookies

    Pulse Almonds in a food processor until finely chopped
  • 2
    Beat Butter at medium speed with heavy duty electric mixer until creamy Add egg beating just until yellow disappears. Gradually add 1 cup powdered sugar, beating at low speed until blended, beat 1 minute Add vanilla and almonds, and beat until blended.

    Combine Flour and baking powder, gradually add to butter mixture, beating just until blended after each addition.

    Pinch Off 1-inch pieces of dough shape into crescents Insert a clove into each cookie, if desired, place on ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake At 350 for 25 minutes, remove to wire racks to cool 30 minutes roll in remaining powdered sugar

    If not using a heavy duty mixer, add 3 cups flour mixture to butter mixture, beating until smooth Knrad n remaining flour until dough is smooth and holds together.
