Ingredients For richmond ginger cakes

1/2 csoftened butter or margarine

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/4 cmolasses

1egg
-
1 call-purpose flour

3/4 cwhole wheat flour

1 tspginger

1 tspcinnamon

1/2 tspground cloves

1/3 tspblack pepper

1 tspbaking soda
How To Make richmond ginger cakes

1In a bowl, beat together butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in molasses and the egg. In a separate bowl, combine flours, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, and baking soda.

2Beat dry mixture into butter mixture. Combine well. Dough will be a little sticky.

3Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

4Cool for a minute on cookie sheet before transferring cookies to a rack to completely cool.
